cuerpo, demasiado cuerpo
cuerpo, demasiado cuerpo
Extractivism and other forms of surrender
cuerpo, demasiado cuerpo is the first solo exhibition by Abuser, alter ego of Germán A.
The exhibition brings together a selection of sculptures, photographs, videos, archival documents, and performative actions built around the body as a territory of surrender, record, and extraction.
The show draws on an archive built from the recording of alternative sexual practices over more than 10 years, and shifts that experience toward other contemporary forms of availability. What belongs to the realm of intimacy becomes image, data, pattern, and record.
The body appears as something that can be observed, measured, used, and exhibited.
Surrendering implies handing over and allowing, but also establishing a relationship between whoever gives, whoever disposes, and whoever observes.
The works carry that negotiation into the exhibition space through devices, images, and records in which desire, control, extraction, and benefit converge and blur.
